AHEAD LEAD Advisory Group
What is the LEAD Advisory Group for?: To ensure that the lived experiences of disabled graduates and professionals inform AHEAD’s employment-focused work, including the continued development/delivery of the GetAHEAD and WAM programmes and a project that they partner on with Employers for Change, the WIDE Framework.
Who is eligible to join the LEAD Advisory Group: GetAHEAD (an initiative of AHEAD) invites applications from disabled people with a minimum NFQ Level 6 qualification in any subject, ranging from graduates, employees and job seekers across different career and life stages. Applicants may be employed, seeking employment, on leave, engaging in unpaid work or in other circumstances relevant to employment experience. AHEAD seek to establish a group that reflects a diversity of experiences, disabilities, identities, sectors and geographic locations within Ireland.
What will the LEAD Advisory Group members’ role be?: Group members will be expected to attend online meetings throughout the year. They will be invited to provide feedback on programmes, platforms, resources and initiatives. Members may also put themselves forward for opportunities to participate in additional projects and activities for which they will be appropriately reimbursed.
Key dates: Applications open on July 27th and close on the 1st September.
Applicants will be invited to a 15-20 video call, and will shortly afterwards be told if they have been accepted as members of the group for 2026/7. There will be an in-person induction session with professional development elements held in Dublin on November 12th.
This session will mark the start of group membership, expected to meet online 3 times per year and group members are anticipated to continue their engagement for approximately two years. Individual group members are free to continue beyond the two years, and are free to resign if needed at any point during their membership.
