The GenCare project is looking for young disabled people to be co-researchers.
The GenCare project, based at the Centre for Disability Law and Policy University of Galway, is looking for young disabled people, aged 18-24, to be co-researchers.
The project wants to explore care and support with disabled people in Ireland including what care and support means to them, the different experiences they had, and how they think things should change.
To do this GenCare will work with a group of young disabled co-researchers and International Advisory Board of disabled people.
While the co-researcher group will be relatively small, around 5 young people, the project wants to make sure it includes a number of different perspectives. They are particularly interested in making sure young people with intellectual disabilities, Deaf young people, young disabled people with experience of direct provision, young disabled people belonging to or identifying with the LGBTQ+ community and young disabled people of different races and ethnicities are involved.
