Disabled Persons’ Representative Organisation (DPRO), Physical Impairment Ireland (PII), has submitted a public petition calling for the appointment of an Ombudsman for Disability.
In their submission to the Committee, PII proposes that the appointment of an Ombudsman for Disability would “…assist impaired people in resolving issues with our government agencies and ensuring fairer treatment and access to services and make this state a more progressive one for impaired people of all ages and our loved ones.”
The petition will be heard and discussed by the Joint Committee on Public Petitions and the Ombudsmen tomorrow, Tuesday, 3rd December at 6pm.
