The OHCHR is preparing an annual thematic study on the rights of persons with disabilities to mark the twentieth anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
βThe study will examine lessons learned and challenges in the development of human rights standards and norms over the past twenty years, including how these have been reflected in legislation, policy and institutional frameworks, and their impact on the enjoyment of human rights by persons with disabilities.
The study will draw on data, evidence and illustrative examples of progress, good practices and remaining challenges.
OHCHR invites States, national human rights institutions, regional organizations, civil society organizations, including organizations of persons with disabilities, academia, international organizations and other relevant stakeholders to submit written contributions.β
